10 December 2014

this must be the place.

December always feels like one long sigh, I start to feel the weight of the year upon me and long for a fresh start.
I suppose this is a continuation from this post, I left a place I called home and my dear friend has just had to do the same. In September I became a piece of furniture in beautiful Ellen's home and here is a little diary from my time with her and an ode to the place she adored.

Pictures by Ellen, Prizme and myself.

12 August 2014

all of a sudden I miss everyone.

This space has been neglected for a little too long.
I'm just finding my feet from moving to a city and now back home. I'm not very good at sharing, my life for the past twelve months may have been a shock to my soft side but I have nothing but fondness for the city I called home. Here are some photographs taken by my always muse Ellen Rogers, edited by the lovely Prizme - the only two people who can depict my sacred space as I know it.

There are a few little projects tugging at my thoughts - I hope to share these soon.

Girl of my dreams.

How delightful are these portraits taken from issue 15 of Lula, they make my heart melt.
The expression, the hair - it is beyond a dream. And although I always get flushes of girlish excitement when a new issue comes out, this time the anticipation kicked in early after hearing that Ellen Rogers had taken some photographs for issue fifteen. Ellen is a wonderful friend who's beautiful work I always thought would lend itself to such a wonderful magazine.
Below is my favourite, isn't it just lovely?

Ophelia.

"From my rotting body, flowers shall grow
and I am in them and that is eternity."
Edvard Munch

It's been a long time since I've set the time aside to really create something - but having seen this collaboration, between front row society and anthropologie, I felt it was time to make an exception.

Above is the artwork I produced and submitted as the pattern - a hand tinted photograph of collected flowers, influenced by the artwork below and the still life painting of the baroque era.

You can see the completed pattern here and, if it's your cup of tea, please give me a hand a leave a comment or vote and perhaps you might see it in store.

Shameless plea over, I hope you have all had a lovely bank holiday!

Ellen Rogers.

Ellen Rogers is an all-analogue photographer whose experimentation in the dark room produces the most stunning and ethereal images.
I adore everything about her work and this post has been long overdue, but now I have time on my hands there is nothing I would rather do than surround myself in beautiful images.

I am fortunate enough to call her a friend, and an incredibly generous friend at that. Above is the gift she sent for my 21st birthday, I am in awe of it and it is certainly one of the loveliest things I own.

You really got a hold on me.

Today is my better half's birthday and although we had a wonderful weekend of LadurĂ©e tea, we wish we were in sweden blueberry pie and nice weather walks, I wish I could be there today.
As I can't, I thought I would share with the world what an incredible amount he has achieved this year.
please take a look at his work with wonderful artists such as;
Bright Eyes, Bon Iver, Ellen Rogers,
